Clipper Round the World Yacht Race 2019

Clipper Round the World Yacht Race made a memorable stop in Subic Bay, Philippines during its 2019-2020 edition. Due to the emerging COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, the fleet rerouted and paused at Subic Bay Yacht Club making an unplanned but pivotal location in the race’s timeline and an extraordinary chapter in the Clubs legacy.
Eleven Clipper yachts remained berthed at the Club for nearly two years until its restart in March 2022 where SBYC was selected as the official restart location for the Clipper Race’s Pacific leg. This moment showcased the Club’s capability as global partner in the sport through its unwavering support as an ally of international yachting.
